What If an RV Park Were an Office Park?

I have a lot of business ideas I’m probably never going to start.

Here’s one.

An office trailer park.

Imagine an RV park in a great setting - near trails, woods, water or somewhere you’d actually enjoy spending the day.

But instead of vacationers, it’s filled with entrepreneurs, startups, freelancers and creatives. You bring your own camper, RV, Airstream or converted trailer and rent a spot by the month.

Your camper becomes your office.

The park provides the basics: great Wi-Fi, power, bathrooms, coffee, meeting space and maybe a small coworking clubhouse.

You get inexpensive rent. You own your office. Your camper has a place to stay when you’re not using it. And instead of working in a traditional office park, you’re somewhere you can walk, hike, bike or maybe play pickleball during the day.

I could even see a startup renting a few spots together, or an established company using one as a small off-site skunkworks.

Would the economics work? I don’t know.

Would zoning be a nightmare? Maybe.

Would enough people actually want this? That’s the real question.

But I like ideas like this because they often start by combining two things that already exist in a different way.

An RV park.

A coworking space.

Put them together and maybe there’s something there.

At the very least, I’d rather work from an Airstream next to a trail than Building C of an office park.
